Poker Etiquette by Internet Poker Guide

Online poker etiquette is pretty simple, and much more straightforward than when playing live.

You should act as quickly as possible while playing, and not take too long and slow down the action at the table. If you’re too distracted to act quickly, watching television, or talking to your dog, you shouldn’t be playing anyway, so this one is a no brainer.

Don’t use the chat window to abuse other players. Yes, it’s frustrating to have a bad player beat you with a terrible hand when they should have folded, but don’t take it out on them in the chat. Be courteous to everyone, even when they suck out on you.

Don’t discuss a hand while it’s still live and being played. Don’t say that you folded a 9, if three 9s are out there and the hand is still being played. This gives unfair information to players still involved in the hand. You can discuss hands after they’re finished but never discuss a live hand still in play.
