Set Smart Expectations by Internet poker guide
Everyone wants to win tons of money when they play poker, raking in huge mountains of chips. It’s fun to fantasize that you’ll win at poker and keep winning, playing for higher and higher stakes, quitting your job to become a full-time poker pro, living the high life.
The reality is that you’ll win some and lose some at poker, especially when you first start. Poker is very easy to learn but difficult to master, so you shouldn’t start playing Internet poker with the expectation that you’ll win, right out of the gate.
Expect to struggle a bit when you first start, and don’t be surprising to lose a little money. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t immediately win tons of money, as almost no one starts out winning consistently when they first start playing.
Don’t get impatient if it seems to be taking awhile to become a winning player. That’s just the nature of the game and is something that every player goes through at first. Just focus on playing every hand as well as you can and let the other stuff take care of itself.
